Wood is the building and design material of choice this year with designers and homeowners using it for both interiors and exteriors. Wood can be designed to work with any style or budget. Whether it’s for architectural details on your house’s facade or an interior accent (i.e. wood beams or accent walls), wood adds a touch of class and conveys a sense of coziness in every home.

Biophilic Design

Biophilic design is an environmental architectural style that embraces elements of nature and the environment. It involves mimicking the natural landscape’s shapes, textures, and colours to produce a home that helps its inhabitants feel more connected and in tune with nature. This style is gaining momentum at a time when homeowners are becoming increasingly eco-conscious. 

Some common features of biophilic design include:

Arches 

Love them or hate them, arches will be big in 2023. With gothic architecture set to return this year, arches are popular again. Dating as far back as the Roman empire, arches add depth and charm to a space.

Butler’s Pantry

The COVID-19 pandemic played a significant role in reshaping how we use and live in our homes. It forced countless people to work out of their houses, creating a greater need for home office spaces. This, in turn, has led to the rise of multipurpose rooms. Homeowners work in these spaces and use them for other purposes like leisure activities or exercise.
